According to the official Telegram channel of the press service of the President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev congratulated Alexander Van der Bellen on the National Day of the Republic of Austria.

"In his message, the president highlighted the positive dynamics of cooperation between the two countries and expressed confidence that through joint efforts, Kazakh-Austrian interaction will continue to strengthen for the benefit of both nations.

The head of state wished Alexander Van der Bellen and the people of Austria prosperity and well-being," - Acorda reported.

Allied occupation forces were stationed in Austria for 10 years after the end of World War II.

The state treaty signed on May 15, 1955, in Vienna restored Austria's independence and full sovereignty. It came into effect on July 27, 1955, after which the Allied troops were withdrawn from the country.

In the same year, on October 26, following the withdrawal of the last foreign military units, the government approved a federal constitutional law proclaiming Austria's permanent neutrality and excluding the possibility of joining any military alliances or establishing foreign military bases in Austria.
