Interior Minister Yerzhan Sadenov reported to the President about a decline in crime rates since the beginning of the year. The number of criminal offenses has decreased by 5,500, while the total number of crimes has dropped by nearly 10,000, according to Bizmedia.kz.

Implemented Measures:

  • Under the principle of “Law and Order,” preventive measures are intensified, and a “zero tolerance” policy for offenses is being established.
  • There has been a 40% increase in the prevention of administrative violations, including:
    • Minor hooliganism (+30%);
    • Traffic violations (+48%).
  • The revocation of driving licenses has risen by 32%, especially for driving under the influence.
  • Over 1,600 criminals have been detained, with 158 apprehended abroad.

The President was also informed about measures to combat organized crime, cybercrime, and drug-related offenses, as well as improvements in road safety and the enhancement of the criminal enforcement system.

Kassym-Jomart Tokayev instructed to continue efforts to strengthen law and order and public safety.
