"I don't set goals or targets for myself." The newcomer of "Tobol" shared his thoughts on adapting to the team and the upcoming season.

The Belarusian forward of “Tobol”, Nikolai Signievich, shared his thoughts on adapting to the Kostanay team and his expectations for the upcoming season in an interview with the club's press service, as reported by Sports.kz citing KazFootball.kz.

— What are your first impressions of the team? Have you been to Kostanay? What do you think of the city?
— I have pleasant impressions; the guys welcomed me well, so I am very happy to be part of the team. I have been to Kostanay twice when we played against “Tobol” last year.

— Can you tell us how you started playing football?
— Like most, I loved football as a child and played outside. My friends started playing football, and I followed them; we practiced together. They eventually dropped out, but I stayed.

— Which moments in your previous career do you consider the most significant?
— Playing for the national team and participating in European competitions. Plus, winning a championship, especially the first one, is definitely the most memorable and significant. I also think that scoring for the national team, although unfortunately I have only done it once, is very important and gratifying for me. I hope to score again.

— What are your expectations for the upcoming season with “Tobol”? What goals are you setting for yourself?
— I want to be beneficial to the team; I want to play and help my teammates, and if possible, score. I don’t set specific goals or numbers for myself, and I haven’t done that in the past either.

— How do you assess the atmosphere in the team at the moment?
— The atmosphere is positive because we are in training camp. We have almost two training sessions a day, so it’s a good working environment.

— Do you have any special rituals or habits before a match?
— I don’t have rituals. I do have habits; I try to look neat during the game. It’s a requirement I set for myself.

— How do you evaluate the work of the coaching staff? What do they bring to your game?
— I think the main thing is understanding. What the coach wants from me and what I can provide; communication is very important between me and the coaching staff.

— Do you have any idols in the football world that you look up to? Why them?
— I am a fan of “Arsenal,” and my favorite player was Dennis Bergkamp. I really liked how he played. Another one was Ronaldinho when he was still playing for “Barcelona.” I don’t have any idols now, but back then, like all kids, I certainly did.
