In the engineering industry in Kazakhstan, 8 new professions are set to emerge in 2025. This was announced today during a government meeting focused on measures for the Year of Working Professions by the Minister of Industry, Kanat Sharlapaev, as reported by the correspondent from the Kapital.kz business information center.

"This year, as part of the launch of 190 projects from the Industrialization Map, 8 new professions will be introduced in the engineering sector, including roles such as 3D printing and welding engineer, robotic painting systems operator, among others," he noted.

According to the ministry's reference information, these specialists will be employed at the production sites of key projects, such as the multi-brand factory for the production of passenger cars of Chinese brands Chery, Changan, Haval, Tank in Almaty (LLP "Motor Company 'Astana-Motors'"), the KIA car manufacturing plant in Kostanay region (LLP KIA Qazaqstan (Laurus)), and the home appliances factory in Almaty region (LLP Almaty Turmystyq Tehnika Zavody).

The demand for personnel in the sectors overseen by the ministry exceeds 39,000 people. This includes 4,600 in metallurgy and mining, 6,800 in manufacturing, and over 17,000 in construction and water supply.

"Currently, the Atlas of New Professions includes 75 professions under the ministry's purview. For instance, in the metallurgy and mining sector, there are roles such as robotic mining equipment operator, smart system developer for the mining and metallurgy industries; in mechanical engineering, virtual prototyping specialist, industrial robotics design engineer; and in construction, digital designer, Big Data analyst, 'Smart Home' designer. Additionally, over 40 professions have been transformed as a result of business process automation," he highlighted.
