The education department of the Karasay district reported that on November 18, a mobile fluorography unit was sent to A. Pushkin Secondary School, where students aged 15 underwent fluorography. On November 20, the school nurse received a notification from the district hospital's phthisiatrist indicating that a 9th-grade student had been diagnosed with an open form of tuberculosis. He stopped attending classes on November 19.

The school promptly implemented sanitary and epidemiological safety measures: they cleaned the classroom where the case was identified, isolated the class, and treated the premises with a 5% sodium hypochlorite solution.

“Discussions were held with teachers and staff about tuberculosis prevention. For the class where the illness was detected, lessons have been organized in an isolated format. On November 22, after classes ended, a specialized service conducted disinfection across the school premises, covering a total area of 4,200 square meters,” the official response to Kazinform stated.

Currently, the school is awaiting the results of an inspection from the district sanitary and epidemiological department (SES). Based on the inspection results, additional measures will be taken if necessary.

Experts assert that there is currently no threat to other students.
