At a railway crossing in the Atyrau region, a freight train collided with a truck, as reported by a correspondent from the Kapital.kz business information center, citing the press service of "Қазақстан темір жолы."
"On March 1 at 10:20, at the railway crossing of the Tendik station, a collision occurred with a freight train due to the fault of the truck driver. As a result of the accident, members of the locomotive crew were injured. The locomotive and 11 empty wagons derailed. In 2024, there were 28 traffic accidents at railway crossings caused by violations of traffic rules by drivers of motor vehicles. KTZ reminds of the importance of adhering to safety regulations at railway crossings to prevent such incidents," the statement noted.
It is worth mentioning that on February 28, 2025, a fire broke out during drilling operations at the Don mining and processing plant. As a result of the incident, four workers were taken to the district hospital. Two of the injured were hospitalized in the trauma department, one was discharged home, and one remains in intensive care in serious condition.
On February 17, 2025, a rockfall occurred in the "Zhomart" mine of the Kazakhmys Corporation in the Zhanaarkinsk district of the Ulytau region. Seven workers lost their lives. Following this tragedy, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev instructed the government to implement a series of measures to ensure the safety of workers in hazardous industries.
