The Brazilian Air Force's Center for Investigation and Prevention of Aeronautical Accidents has completed the decoding of the flight data recorders (black boxes) from the Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) aircraft that crashed near the city of Aktau in Kazakhstan. According to Report, sources within the agency informed the Brazilian portal G1 about this.
"The extraction, collection, and verification of data from the two recorders have been completed," they stated.
Furthermore, the newspaper O Globo noted that the agency has already sent the relevant information to the authorities in Kazakhstan.
To remind, the AZAL passenger plane, operating the Baku-Grozny flight, crashed on December 25 near the city of Aktau in Kazakhstan. Out of the 67 people on board, 38 lost their lives, while 29 survived.
On December 30, Kazakhstan sent the black boxes of the Azerbaijani aircraft for decoding to the Brazilian Center for Investigation and Prevention of Aeronautical Accidents (CENIPA). The decoding of the "black boxes" commenced in Brazil on January 3.
