On September 29, 2025, a branch of the New York Film Academy (NYFA) will commence operations in Kazakhstan. The campus will be established within the Creative Industries Park of Energo University in Kaskelen, near Almaty, as reported by a correspondent from the business information center Kapital.kz, citing the press service of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education.
This branch will be the third NYFA campus outside the United States and the first world-class creative university in Kazakhstan. An online ceremony for signing the agreement to launch its operations took place on March 1 at Energo University, attended by the Minister of Science and Higher Education Sayasat Nurbek and the President of the New York Film Academy, Michael Yang.

The branch will feature in-person instruction by NYFA lecturers across five disciplines as part of one-year and short-term training programs: Filmmaking; Producing; Screenwriting; 3D Animation & VFX; Game Design.
The academy plans to enroll up to 200 students in its first cohort from Kazakhstan and neighboring countries in the region, including China, India, Russia, and others.
Upon graduation, students will receive diplomas from an American university and have the opportunity to continue their studies in New York or Los Angeles.

It was previously reported that in 2025, Kazakhstan will open 11 branches of foreign universities. One of them will be the branch of the Korean university Woosong, which will operate in Turkestan. Cardiff University will also establish a branch in Kazakhstan.
