Kazakhstan has implemented digital technologies for monitoring the quality of its roadways.

The General Director of RGP "National Center for Quality of Road Assets," Bolatbek Aitbaev, reported at a government meeting that the organization is developing and implementing digital technologies for quality control of roadways to minimize human factors. This is supported by an automatic defect recognition system for road surfaces, based on artificial intelligence principles. As a result, the data processing time for diagnostics has been reduced from 4 days to 4 hours for every 100 km.

The organization has also established a unified portal for departmental expertise, which ensures the preservation of documentation as well as transparency and oversight of the work of divisions. The portal also facilitates a reduction in the volume of documentation, speeds up the data processing time for expertise, and increases the number of assessments by five times.
