In the Abai region, the government has reclaimed 21 plots of land.

In 2025, it is planned to return 170,000 hectares of unused agricultural land to state ownership in the Abai region, as reported by a correspondent from the Kapital.kz business information center, citing the press service of the akimat.

Currently, the interdepartmental subgroup of the akimat has already returned 4,959.2 hectares or 21 land plots. Of these, 4,694.8 hectares are designated as pastures, while 264.4 hectares are classified as other unused lands. In the Aksuat district, 13 plots or 3,915 hectares were returned, in the Beskaragay district - 3 plots or 304.2 hectares, and in the Zharmin district - 5 plots or 740 hectares.

Last year, out of a planned 110,000 hectares to be returned to state ownership, 121,100 hectares or 256 plots were actually returned. Among these, 114,800 hectares were pastures, 4,500 hectares were fallow arable land, and 1,800 hectares were other unused lands.

Data on 114 plots covering a total area of 644,100 hectares has been submitted to the Department of Land Resource Management for further return to state ownership.

From 2022 to 2024, 107,900 hectares of returned land and an additional 54,600 hectares from the population were brought into agricultural circulation.

In 2024, over 2 million hectares of land were returned to state ownership. It was also reported that the competitive requirements for the allocation of agricultural lands returned to the state will be revised: the responsibility of potential owners for maintaining soil quality, vegetation cover, preventing pasture degradation, adhering to crop rotation, and other reciprocal obligations to enhance the efficiency of their rational use will be strengthened.
