The State Security Service of Kazakhstan announced temporary traffic restrictions in Astana on November 27 and 28, 2024. These restrictions will be enforced on certain sections of the capital's streets in connection with the preparation and holding of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) summit, which will involve heads of foreign states.
The agency also clarified that the preparatory measures will include the use of resources from special state agencies, law enforcement bodies, and the Armed Forces of Kazakhstan, including military aviation and equipment.
Residents and visitors to the capital are advised to take potential changes in traffic into account and plan their routes in advance.
