The pumping station is designed for the transfer and discharge of sanitary household and similar non-explosive industrial wastewater from residential areas in the central part of Uralsk.
This municipal facility will ensure stable wastewater disposal for 226,700 residents and 139 social institutions in the city.
The pumping station was constructed in 1966. Until today, it has been in a worn-out and emergency condition. Reconstruction work has been ongoing for 1.5 years.

The Akim of the West Kazakhstan region, Nariman Turegaliev, noted that large-scale efforts are underway in the region to modernize the public utilities sector, in accordance with the instructions of the head of state.
"Since the beginning of 2023, we have started working on the reconstruction of municipal facilities. We have completed the repairs of pumping stations No. 19, No. 3, and No. 2 in Uralsk. This year, we are finishing the repairs of stations No. 18 and No. 21. Work on the modernization of pumping stations No. 1 and No. 29 will begin shortly. We are implementing six projects to upgrade the city’s sewage systems and address drinking water issues. In short, the issue of providing drinking water and modernizing the sewage system will be fully resolved in the next 1-2 years," emphasized the regional akim Nariman Turegaliev.

"Previously, all the facilities here were old. Now we will be working in a renovated building. We are very happy. Active work is being carried out in the city to modernize the public utilities sector. This pumping station will have a positive impact on the socio-economic development of Uralsk and will contribute to the region's growth.
