A new bridge over the Bukhtarma Reservoir has opened for traffic in the East Kazakhstan region.
The two-lane bridge connects six districts: Kurchum, Ulken Naryn, Markakol, Katon-Karagay, Tarbagatai, and Zaisan. It spans a length of 1,316 meters and can accommodate up to 80,000 vehicles per day. Additionally, 18 kilometers of new roads have been constructed leading to the bridge. During a meeting with local residents, Bektenov highlighted that the new bridge will ensure safe vehicle movement year-round. He reminded attendees that for the past 50 years, locals have relied on ferries in the summer and traveled across the ice in winter. Bektenov also believes that this bridge will positively impact the development of the country's transport and logistics sector. Vlast is an independent media outlet in Kazakhstan.
