The visit of Kazakhstan's Foreign Minister to Croatia will give a fresh boost to the development of cooperation between the two countries.

The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Murat Nurtleu, arrived for an official visit to the Republic of Croatia at the invitation of the Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of Croatia, Gordan Grlić-Radman, as reported by DKnews.kz.
The visit of Kazakhstan's Foreign Minister to Croatia will give a fresh boost to the development of cooperation between the two countries.

The visit of the head of Kazakhstan's foreign ministry to Zagreb marks the first in the history of bilateral relations and will provide a new qualitative impetus for the development of Kazakh-Croatian cooperation.

The parties discussed a wide range of issues related to bilateral cooperation, including political dialogue, strengthening trade, economic, and investment interactions, as well as cultural and humanitarian ties. It was noted that Kazakhstan and Croatia have significant potential for deepening mutually beneficial cooperation in areas such as energy, transportation, including civil aviation, agriculture, digitalization and innovation, as well as education and tourism.

The head of the Kazakh Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized that Croatia is a long-standing and close partner of Kazakhstan in the Balkans and the European Union:

Croatia ranks third among Kazakhstan's trading partners in Southeastern Europe. The mutual trade turnover for 2023 reached 432 million USD. In this context, an agreement was reached to activate the work of the Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation, with the second meeting planned for 2025 in Astana.

For its part, the Croatian minister also stated that Zagreb is interested in further progressive development of relations with Astana and expressed readiness to make every effort to promote mutually beneficial partnerships in all areas of mutual interest.

An exchange of views took place on current issues of the international agenda and cooperation within multilateral frameworks such as the UN, OSCE, and others. Special attention was paid to aspects of partnership in Central Asia and the Balkans, as well as issues related to ensuring global and regional stability.

As a result of the meeting, a Cooperation Program between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan and the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of Croatia for 2025-2027 was signed, along with a Memorandum of Cooperation between the Institute of Diplomacy under the Academy of Public Administration of Kazakhstan and the Croatian Diplomatic Academy.
