"Creating a design and establishing a brand takes two years": Sharlapaev shares when Kazakhstan will have its own car.

During a government briefing, the head of the Ministry of Industry and Construction was asked when a domestic car might be introduced in Kazakhstan, as reported by a correspondent from NUR.KZ.
"Creating a design and establishing a brand takes two years": Sharlapaev shares when Kazakhstan will have its own car.

"I believe that taking the design and putting a brand on it, indicating that it is a Kazakh car, will probably take about 1.5 to 2 years. However, it won't be exactly what you are referring to. First, we need to learn how to technically create the basic products and components correctly, and then we can build from there.

But the most important thing is that the automotive industry itself is evolving. That's why we are actively working on various battery materials at the ministry and trying to start production, as I believe this is a more fundamental direction for development," - replied Minister Kanat Sharalpaev.

It is worth noting that Minister Sharalpaev was also asked today why he does not drive a Kazakh-assembled car - in response, the head of the Ministry of Industry stated that he would request a change of his official vehicle.

Recall that during a visit to Almaty in the summer, Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov stated that Kazakhstan should become a powerful automotive power.

At the same time, in June, it was reported that the sales of new cars significantly dropped in Kazakhstan, while the average price for new domestically assembled cars increased. In August, the average cost of new domestically assembled cars rose by 3% in just one month. Additionally, the August figure is not the highest; in June, the average price for domestic "passenger cars" in the country's dealerships increased by 7.3%.

We also reported that a large portion of registered vehicles in the country is over 10 years old. According to the latest data from the Bureau of National Statistics, only 6.2% of vehicles are less than three years old.
