In the first 11 months of 2024, investment in fixed capital (IFC) in Kazakhstan's tourism sector has increased. The total volume of IFC during this period reached 777.4 billion tenge, which is 27.3% higher than the figure for the same period last year, which was 610.2 billion tenge, as reported by a correspondent from the business information center Kapital.kz, citing data from the Ministry of Tourism and Sports.
Investment growth has been recorded in 12 regions of the country. The leaders in terms of growth rates are: – Astana – an increase of 218.2%; – West Kazakhstan Region – an increase of 94.5%; – Mangystau Region – an increase of 50%; – Atyrau Region – an increase of 183%; – Turkestan Region – an increase of 43.7%.
“These figures indicate a growing interest from investors in developing Kazakhstan's tourist infrastructure and the significant potential of the industry for attracting capital,” the department believes.
It was previously reported that over 2,100 children made free flights across Kazakhstan as part of the Kids Go Free program. Lake Alakol continues to lead among the destinations of the program. In 2024, the number of tours sold increased by 20% compared to last year. More than 700 children traveled to Alakol with free airline tickets.
