Kazakhstan is experiencing a rise in employment within the IT sector. In 2019, there were 5,800 IT professionals in the country, but by July of this year, that number has increased to over 17,000 specialists, according to Finprom.
The average salary for IT workers has increased by one and a half times. In 2019, it was 262,300 tenge, while in June 2024, it has risen to 657,400 tenge. Analysts clarified that the average salary of 657,400 tenge applies to the entire category of "Information and Communication," which includes not only programmers and application developers but also specialists involved in communications and information services.
Nearly half of the IT professionals reported salaries exceeding 700,000 tenge this year. More than two thousand specialists earned over one million tenge.
