The Chairman of the Board of JSC "Ozenmunaigas," Zhanbolat Saymaganbetov, informed the striking employees that their demands are illegal, and thus, they will be addressed at the subsidiary level. The management of "KazMunayGas" will not attend to resolve the conflict.
He also remarked: "We have come to you for several days. My colleagues and I have been conducting explanatory work. On November 25, all departments will submit their attendance records, so we have made the following decision. Employees who return to work and end the strike will receive 50% of their salary. Workers who do not report for duty on November 26 will not receive any salary."
It is worth noting that on November 12, employees of the "Drilling Operations Management" announced a strike in Zhanaozen, halting production. "KazMunayGas" responded to the demonstrators' demands. On November 19, the company reported that initially, 1,700 people were on strike, but within a week, 281 workers refused to return to their shifts.
The KMG noted that the damage from the unauthorized actions of the employees amounts to approximately 100 tons of oil per day.
