Mandarin Prices Before the New Year in Kazakhstan
Almaty
At one of the largest wholesale markets in the city, pre-New Year sales of mandarins have already begun. A box weighing eight kilograms is offered for 6000 tenge (1 kilogram - 750 tenge). These mandarins from China are known for being seedless and having juicy flesh. Sellers report that this variety is in high demand among customers.

In the vegetable stalls located in the courtyards of residential buildings in Almaty, mandarins are sold for 1000 to 1500 tenge per kilogram. The available mandarins come from China and Turkey.
