The Ministry of Emergency Situations reported that work continues at the site of the Azerbaijan Airlines plane crash near Aktau, according to a correspondent from the Kapital.kz business information center citing data from the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
A total of 306 people, 101 units of equipment, two aircraft, and six canine teams are involved in the recovery efforts. The operation includes personnel from the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Ministry of Defense, employees of private fire services, the Disaster Medicine Center, ambulance teams, and local executive authorities, as well as representatives from the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Azerbaijan.
Psychologists from the Disaster Medicine Center continue to provide support to relatives arriving in Aktau.
Yesterday, as a result of the emergency rescue operations, 29 people were rescued and hospitalized in medical facilities in Aktau, including three minors.
According to updated data, 38 bodies of the deceased have been found and transported to the forensic examination center, among them six citizens of Kazakhstan and three crew members. The bodies of seven individuals have been identified. Additionally, a black box was discovered by the rescuers yesterday. A round-the-clock watch has been organized at the accident site.
A total of 1,063 calls have been received on the hotline.
Recall that on December 25, 2024, a plane flying from Baku to Grozny crashed near Aktau. The aircraft belongs to Azerbaijan Airlines. There were 29 survivors from the aviation disaster. According to the latest data from Azerbaijan Airlines, there were 67 people on board, including five crew members. Among the passengers were six citizens of Kazakhstan, 42 from Azerbaijan, three from Kyrgyzstan, and 16 from Russia. All crew members were citizens of Azerbaijan. Of the 29 hospitalized individuals, 15 are citizens of Azerbaijan, nine are citizens of Russia, three are citizens of Kyrgyzstan, and the citizenship of two individuals is being clarified.
An Investigation Commission has been established for the aviation incident. A delegation from the State Agency of Civil Aviation of the Republic of Azerbaijan has arrived in Kazakhstan, along with representatives from Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL). Representatives from the aircraft manufacturer Embraer and CENIPA - the Center for Investigation and Prevention of Aviation Accidents from Brazil have also flown to Kazakhstan.
