An AI-based assistant will start speaking in Kazakh on eGov.kz. This was announced today during a government meeting, in response to a question from the Prime Minister, by the Minister of Digital Development, Innovations, and Aerospace Industry, Jaslan Madiev, as reported by the correspondent of the business information center Kapital.kz.
“We have begun working in test mode. Currently, we are collaborating with Nazarbayev University to develop a comprehensive Kazakh-language model. The next step is to implement a new feature. After this feature is introduced, it will start speaking in Kazakh,” he noted.
He emphasized that digital documents are fully equivalent to physical documents. Citizens do not need to carry physical documents while traveling within Kazakhstan.
“This year alone, such services have been utilized over 200 million times. An online notary is also available for citizens, allowing them to access notarial services even when outside the country. More than 175,000 such services have been provided. At the direction of the head of state, we have introduced a social wallet. Today, it is accessible to everyone through the eGov.kz application. We started with two services: providing free meals for schoolchildren, which has already reached 700,000 students; parents automatically receive confirmation that their child has received free meals. The second is the provision of free medications, with all 100% of state pharmacies already equipped with this technology and able to dispense free medications through this voucher,” the minister explained.
Furthermore, artificial intelligence is being implemented for businesses. A risk management system has been introduced that reduces the number of inspections without human intervention.
“Last year, there were 123,000 business inspections, but this year that number has been halved to 60,000, and all this digitalization assistance covers the entire business sector. However, the government’s priority today is working with domestic producers and providing them with the necessary support,” Jaslan Madiev noted.
The AI platform generates analytical reports on domestic producers, including key factors for the increase or decrease in goods procurement, export and import figures, the role of government support, and recommendations on how to improve this work.
“The system automatically assigns tasks to all relevant government agencies, such as the Ministry of Industry and Construction, among others,” explained the head of the Ministry of Digital Development, Innovations, and Aerospace Industry.
