The condition of those hospitalized from the crash site was reported by the Akimat of the Mangystau region, as conveyed by the Kapital.kz business information center.
According to the local executive authority, all patients are receiving comprehensive treatment in accordance with the diagnostic and treatment protocols of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
“Investigative authorities have been working to establish the identities of two patients; one has been identified with citizenship from Azerbaijan. Additionally, highly qualified specialists from the National Coordination Center for Emergency Medicine and leading republican centers arrived from Astana via sanitary aviation. Alongside these specialists, a special flight from the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation, as well as a medical aviation team from the Republic of Azerbaijan, has also arrived,” the Ministry of Internal Affairs informed.
According to the Akimat, rounds have been conducted for all the victims, and the management strategy has been coordinated. A team of psychologists is working with the victims and their relatives.
“Today, on December 26, 2024, at 08:30 Aktau time, a medical aviation flight from the central office of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation evacuated citizens of the Russian Federation. Currently, 20 patients are under observation, of which 6 are in intensive care: 5 in the Central Emergency Hospital and 1 in the Republican Hospital. Two patients from the Central Emergency Hospital were transferred to the trauma department,” the Akimat reported.
Recall that on Wednesday, December 25, a plane en route from Baku to Grozny crashed near Aktau. The aircraft belongs to Azerbaijan Airlines. A total of 29 people survived the air disaster.
According to preliminary data from the Ministry of Transport of Kazakhstan, there were 37 citizens of Azerbaijan, six from Kazakhstan, three from Kyrgyzstan, and 16 from Russia on board. In total, there were 67 people, including 5 crew members.
As reported by the Kazakh Ministry of Transport, a Commission has been established to investigate the aviation incident.
A delegation from the State Agency for Civil Aviation of the Republic of Azerbaijan, along with representatives from Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL), has arrived in Kazakhstan. Work at the site is being carried out in close cooperation with the aviation authorities of Azerbaijan.
Representatives from the aircraft manufacturer Embraer and CENIPA - the Center for Investigation and Prevention of Aviation Accidents from Brazil have also flown to Kazakhstan.
It is noted that a governmental commission led by Deputy Prime Minister Kanat Bozumbaev is in Aktau, which includes the Minister of Transport of Kazakhstan Marat Karabaev, Vice Minister of Transport Talgat Lastayev, Director of the Department for Investigating Transport Incidents Nurzhan Malaev, Chairperson of the Civil Aviation Committee Saltanat Tompieva, and General Director of RGP "KazAeroNavigation" Nurzhan Akhmetov.
