In Almaty, work on the reconstruction and modernization of schools with seismic reinforcement will continue in 2025. The budget project for 2025-2027 is set to be reviewed at the upcoming session of the Maslikhat, as reported by a correspondent from the business information center Kapital.kz, citing the Maslikhat's press service.
According to the budget project for the next three years, nearly 250 billion tenge is planned to be allocated for the maintenance of 216 schools, 12 boarding institutions, and 20 colleges, serving a total of 344,000 students.
In 2025, the seismic reinforcement of three schools will be completed, and work will begin on the seismic reinforcement of Lyceum School No. 50, as well as seven kindergartens in the Auezov, Bostandyk, and Medeu districts. The construction of two schools (in the Zerdeli and Shugyla microdistricts) will be completed, along with the reconstruction of 12 schools. During 2023-2024, major repairs with seismic reinforcement were completed in 11 schools in the city.
Next year, 14 schools with a capacity of 24,200 places will be opened under the national project "Comfortable School." By the next academic year, the deficit of student places is expected to decrease to a "manageable" level of 3,000 to 4,000 places. Out of more than 200 public schools, 43 will switch to single-shift education.
In 2025, funding is planned for the continuation of the construction and reconstruction of five kindergartens in the Orbita-3, Altyn-Besik, Kuramys, Shugyla, and microdistrict No. 10. Additionally, three kindergartens are planned to be built in the Karagaily, Darkhan, and Nurkent microdistricts.
