"The Ministry of Digital Development has announced the launch of the Digital Nomad Visa (DNV) program, aimed at attracting international specialists and fostering the digital economy of Kazakhstan. This visa provides professionals from around the globe the opportunity to live and work in Kazakhstan, enjoying modern digital services and a high standard of comfort.
The Digital Nomad Visa targets IT specialists, positioning Kazakhstan as a convenient hub for remote work. The program appeals to professionals who prioritize access to high-speed internet, advanced digital services, and ease of doing business," - states the agency's announcement published on the official website.
Among the advantages of the Digital Nomad Visa:
"The Digital Nomad Visa is a significant step toward transforming Kazakhstan into an international center for digital nomads. The program provides comfortable working conditions and a high quality of life, which contributes to the development of innovative ecosystems and the exchange of experiences with professionals from around the world," - emphasizes the head of the Ministry of Digital Development, Zhaslan Madiyev.
It is noted that the Digital Nomad Visa program is already available and offers unique opportunities for work and life in Kazakhstan.
Recall that recently a new visa for modern nomads, the Neo Nomad, was introduced in Kazakhstan. It was reported that this visa is designed for so-called modern nomads - foreign tourists who combine work and leisure while traveling and working remotely.
The new visa regime takes into account the international experience of more than 50 countries that have successfully implemented similar programs post-pandemic. To obtain a Neo Nomad visa, a foreign citizen must demonstrate a stable income of at least $3,000 per month outside of Kazakhstan. It is also important to have health insurance and a certificate of no criminal record.
Foreign tourists can stay in Kazakhstan for up to one year with this visa while remaining employed by their overseas companies.
Plans for implementing such a visa in Kazakhstan were reported back in May of this year - at that time, the former head of the agency, Ermek Marzhikpaev, discussed how to attract foreign tourists to the country during a government meeting. He spoke about the Neo Nomad visa and highlighted the need to improve the visa and migration regime through digitalization and simplification of visa application procedures.
It was also previously reported that South Korea had launched a new visa for "digital nomads," allowing foreigners to stay in the country for nearly two years.
