The ranking includes the armies of 89 countries worldwide - Kazakhstan is currently positioned at 22nd place, nestled between Lebanon and Kuwait.
The ranking creators placed the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation in first place, followed by the U.S. Army, with Israel rounding out the top three.
Singapore occupies the last position in the ranking.
It is noteworthy that among the Central Asian countries, Kazakhstan has surpassed Uzbekistan, whose armed forces are ranked 19th.
Recall that on September 9, a petition against compulsory military service in Kazakhstan appeared on the official e-petition portal. The petition authors present arguments such as the issue of hazing and unofficial relationships, the low qualifications of conscripts and their unpreparedness for modern challenges, lack of sufficient medical oversight and safety, psychological pressure and instances of suicide, as well as the absence of personal motivation and meaning in service for recruits.
Following this, the Deputy Minister of Defense responded to why Kazakhstan cannot halt conscription and transition to a professional army.
Subsequently, the official representative of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Ruslan Zhangulin, commented on whether Kazakhstan can abandon conscription in the army. According to him, a professional army is very expensive. Currently, our state is unable to support this.
