According to TASS, Yuri Ushakov, assistant to the President of the Russian Federation, announced that 13 countries will officially become partner nations of BRICS starting January 1, 2025. Among them, he mentioned Kazakhstan. He stated that these agreements were reached during the BRICS summit in Kazan.

A correspondent from NUR.KZ reached out for a comment to the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan. They confirmed that Kazakhstan will become a partner of BRICS countries starting January 1, 2025.

It is worth noting that in October of this year, the President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, arrived in Kazan for a working visit at the invitation of President Vladimir Putin to participate in the XVI summit of BRICS heads of state. During the visit, Tokayev met with Vladimir Putin and other world leaders.

During the summit, Tokayev expressed his views on the situation in the Middle East and Ukraine. In his speech, the President emphasized that it is important for Kazakhstan that we have truly friendly relations with each BRICS member state. He added that the multilateral efforts of BRICS will harmoniously complement the activities of the UN.
