The authors intend to amend the government decree "Certain Issues of the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Kazakhstan" dated October 4, 2023.
Specifically, it is proposed to remove the function of determining the procedure for maintaining the registry of technical inspection operators.
The public discussion will continue until November 18 of this year.
It is worth noting that technical inspection with the issuance of a diagnostic card is mandatory for all registered vehicles participating in road traffic within Kazakhstan. Even foreign mechanical vehicles and trailers are subject to this requirement, according to Article 88 of the law "On Road Traffic." This is necessary to ensure safety on public roads.
For personal passenger cars (not used for business purposes), technical inspection is required every 12 months. An exception is made for vehicles that are not older than 7 years from the date of manufacture.
Previously, the issue of imposing a substantial fine for fake technical inspections was raised in Kazakhstan - it was noted that last year, hundreds of counterfeit "technical inspections" were annulled, and fines were issued to the operators who "conducted" them.
