The museum's collection, established in 2019, features over 10,000 original artifacts. The central focus of the exhibition is the figure of the great ruler and conqueror Genghis Khan. Alongside this, artifacts spanning all periods of Mongolian statehood are presented, from the era of the Huns to the 20th century.
One of the primary goals of the museum is to research and promote the cultural heritage of the nomadic civilizations of Eurasia.
The head of state toured the exhibition and left a note in the guestbook.
"The National Museum of Genghis Khan is a chronicle of the history of an outstanding figure and the state he founded. May this center of spirituality serve for the good of the people of Mongolia," wrote Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
On the eve of his visit, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev arrived in Mongolia for a state visit, where he was greeted at the airport by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia, Batmunkh Battsereg.

It was noted that the presidents of Kazakhstan and Mongolia held talks in a narrow format. Additionally, Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh presented a gift to Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
Later, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev conducted negotiations with the President of Mongolia in an expanded format. The heads of state discussed bilateral issues, and Tokayev invited the President of Mongolia to Kazakhstan.
Subsequently, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and President of Mongolia Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh held a briefing for media representatives.
