The event was attended by Daulet Seilkhanov, the head of the Department of State Control and Supervision in the Mining and Metallurgical Industry of the Committee for Industrial Safety of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Approximately 130 delegates from over 55 countries, international organizations, initiatives, and institutions participated in this conference.
During the conference, the Parties discussed enhancing industrial safety to mitigate emerging risks in the context of the global energy transition. In response to the increasing impacts of climate change, the Conference of the Parties emphasized the importance of addressing risks associated with the safety of tailings storage facilities and waste rock dumps, including their potential transboundary effects.
Advanced satellite monitoring tools were also showcased, enabling proactive measures to address issues and reduce the risk of natural disasters.
