Kazakh athlete Alan Kurmangaliev won a silver medal at the WTT Youth Contender table tennis tournament held in Szombathely, Hungary, as reported by Sports.kz referencing Olympic.kz.

Alan defeated Stefan Dimitrov (Bulgaria) 3:0, Mael Van Dessel (Luxembourg) 3:0, Tai Po-Chun (Taipei) 3:2, Dragos Bujora (Romania) 3:0, Mikhail Lovga (Slovakia) 3:2, Isak Alfredsson (Sweden) 3:0, and Li Chong Mok (Korea) 3:0.
In the final, Kurmangaliev lost to Balazs Ley (Hungary) 0:3.
It is worth noting that earlier in the same tournament, the Kazakh athlete earned a bronze medal in the under-17 category.
