Kazakhstan and Mongolia have signed an investment agreement for the creation and development of a satellite remote sensing system. The project includes the development of a satellite for Mongolia, which will be part of a joint Kazakhstan-Mongolia grouping, reports a correspondent from the Kapital.kz business information center, citing the ministry's press service.
“I would like to emphasize that this is the first export of a Kazakh satellite in the country's history, fully developed by domestic engineers. The satellite will be tailored to meet Mongolia's needs, which will strengthen the regional satellite infrastructure and highlight Kazakhstan's growing potential in the field of space technologies,” noted the Minister of Digital Development, Innovations, and Aerospace Industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Zhaslan Madiyev.
Remote sensing technologies will enable both countries to more effectively monitor land conditions, manage water resources, and analyze environmental changes.
“The project is being implemented based on the National Space Center of Kazakhstan with the participation of Mongolian engineers. Kazakh specialists will take on the responsibility of training their Mongolian colleagues at all stages of the project, ensuring the transfer of necessary knowledge and strengthening professional ties. This collaboration will contribute to the skill enhancement of Mongolian engineers and deepen scientific and technical cooperation between the two countries,” the ministry explained.
