Regionally, 3 out of 10 unique social media users globally reside in East Asia. This is followed by other Asian regions—South Asia and Southeast Asia, accounting for 16.4% and 10.7% of all unique social media users worldwide, respectively.

Central Asia has only 0.7% of unique social media users, the same as Australia and Oceania. The fewest unique social media users are found in Southern and Central Africa, as well as the Caribbean, each accounting for 0.5% in their respective regions.

It is worth noting that in Central Asia, only 35.9% of the region's total population are social media users, and just 46.3% of internet users. In comparison, in Northern Europe, 78.8% of residents over 16 use social media, while in East Asia, it is 97.2% of all internet users in the region. Meanwhile, according to Global Stats, in Kazakhstan, the most popular social network accessed via mobile phones as of November this year was Pinterest: 25.16%, down from 29.21% the previous year. Following are Twitter (18.71%), Facebook (16.05%), and Instagram (12.82%).

We also do not know who these big Pinterest fans are; we just present the data. However, it is important to note that Global Stats determines popularity based on the number of clicks, transitions, and entries into social networks, without considering the time spent on them. That is, one transition to YouTube, even if the time spent watching content was tens of minutes or hours, is less popular than numerous clicks on Pinterest or Twitter, which do not exceed a total of 10 minutes spent.
