In Kazakhstan, the use of new digital technologies and artificial intelligence in government operations will be expanded. This was announced by Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov during an off-site government meeting, as reported by a correspondent from the Kapital.kz business information center.

"The head of state emphasizes that digital transformation in the public administration system should contribute to global changes in social life and the economy. As we have seen today, digital technologies have already been implemented in the fields of industry, ecology, healthcare, education, employment, social and legal support, the tax sector, and the business environment. All developed countries are actively investing in the development of digitalization and artificial intelligence and are creating their own strategies. Today, examples of the implementation of domestic digital solutions were presented. This is the next stage of their development, representing the initial steps of our advancements in the field of artificial intelligence," he noted.

The Prime Minister highlighted that neural networks can be used to predict, warn, and proactively respond to potential risks and emergencies.

"During the ongoing digital transformation, we must also work on integrating new digital solutions. All this work will continue within the framework of the Concept for the Development of Artificial Intelligence until 2029 and the new law on artificial intelligence. In this regard, it is proposed that government resolutions strengthen the functions of the Ministry of Digital Development, Innovations, and Aerospace Industry in coordinating this work, as well as set specific tasks for digital deputy ministers to be completed by 2025," the Prime Minister suggested.

He instructed the Ministry of Digital Development, in collaboration with regional akimats, to take measures for training employees in the use of artificial intelligence technology. The Ministry of Science and Higher Education has been tasked with creating educational programs and courses on artificial intelligence.

"Currently, public awareness of developments in the field of artificial intelligence remains low. Many digital services are quite complex for the average citizen. They need to be simplified as much as possible. I instruct the Ministry of Digital Development, together with the relevant ministries, to take appropriate measures to further improve existing digital solutions and inform the public about their use," noted Olzhas Bektenov.

According to him, unified approaches to data accessibility in the information systems of government bodies are necessary for the further use and development of artificial intelligence. The Prime Minister tasked the Ministry of Digital Development, in collaboration with interested government agencies and akimats, to regulate the work related to the collection, storage, and protection of data.

"I instruct the Ministry of Digital Development, together with interested government agencies and akimats, to develop specific support measures for enterprises that implement and deploy digital technologies and artificial intelligence. It is important to ensure transparency and security in the use of artificial intelligence. Relevant legislative measures and regulatory acts should be established to regulate the use of artificial intelligence, including personal data protection, cybersecurity issues, liability for decisions made using artificial intelligence, and ethical standards," he concluded.
